The Washington High School FFA members brought our students a few of their animals to share their knowledge on agriculture and why their farms are so important. The program, Food For America, is designed for the high school students to promote agricultural literacy with the elementary students in our community. South Jefferson students learned where their food comes from, animal care through hands-on activities, and how our actions have a part in agricultural sustainability. The opportunity to touch the animals and hear from students that also grew up in this community was really powerful. We are grateful to Mrs. Grantham the Washington High School FFA members (who were previous SJES students!) for sharing their time with us!
